Original Offer to the Sharks: $500,000 for 15% stake
FuzziBunz, founded in 2000 and run by Tereson Dupuy (The Diaper Queen) is a cloth diaper business hailing from Broussard, Lousiana. Claiming that parents can save 90% over 3 years by using her product vs. throw-away diapers, we are expecting a strong pitch to the Sharks. Based on the press that FuzziBunz has received (multiple TV interviews and write-ups), FuzziBunz is a legit business with what appears to be a ton of sales to back up the pitch to the Sharks.
In addition to the cost-savings for parents, FuzziBunz also claims to stay dryer than cotton diapers, in addition to being easier to launder. Also, of course they are more environmentally friendly than disposables.
There is a chance that patenting comes up in the pitch, since in a recent interview Ms. Dupuy mentioned losing market share due to copycat products. This would be interesting to hear the Sharks’ take on (especially Mark Cuban).
So, will the Sharks stay fresh for the duration of this pitch? Stay tuned!
