Original Offer to the Sharks: $85,000 for 12% stake
Marvin Philip, an NFL player from Draper, VT who retired due in part to back pain, is the founder of Lifter Hamper. He has developed a product that helps anyone experiencing back pain (or averse to bending over) get their laundry done without the strain associated with reaching down to grab dirty clothes. This is a great idea and Mr. Philip certainly has a great online presence and solid branding to accompany his pitch to the Sharks.
The Sharks typically love products with mass appeal, and in my opinion Lifter Hamper fits the bill. According to the website, Lifter Hamper is priced similar to other clothes hampers. Whether the Sharks invest or not, Mr. Philip will undoubtedly see a big increase in sales from his appearance. Here’s hoping he strikes a deal.
So, will Lifter Hamper rise to the top, or will the Sharks fold? Stay tuned!
