UPDATE 5/11: All the entries submitted are listed at the bottom of the post. And the winner is…HAMMERHEAD!!! Congrats to Kyle VK (@giantsmetsdevil)

It’s no secret that on Shark Tank, Kevin O’Leary is “Mr. Wonderful,” a nickname that he freely discloses to entrepreneurs pitching the Sharks their ideas. It recently occurred to one fan of the show, Samantha Sackler, that Mark Cuban could use a new moniker as well.

We’re running with the idea this week and just start compiling responses via Twitter and Facebook. Please comment here or via either of our social media accounts to participate!

This Friday we’re going to tweet our favorites to several Sharks to hopefully get their input! With only a couple of new episodes left in this 3rd season of the show, we couldn’t be happier with all the communication we have with fellow fans of the show. You people are really fun to talk to. Just saying.

Have fun and keep it clean, “thems the rules.”

As one of ten kids growing up in New Jersey, she learned from an early age how to stand out from the crowd. Her refreshingly frank attitude and enduring positivity are keys to her success in business, life, and the Shark Tank.

She is also driven to succeed on her own terms, and that motivation is what led her to turn a $1,000 loan into a $5 billion real estate company. For 25 years, she led The Corcoran Group to the top of the lucrative, competitive New York City real estate market.

Corcoran believes that media exposure is a great way for entrepreneurs to boost their profile and credibility. She initiated this strategy in the 1970s by releasing a one-page assessment of the Manhattan real estate market to The New York Times. That tradition continues today, and The Corcoran Report is now a widely trusted source in New York real estate.

In 2001, she sold the company for $70 million. But Corcoran hasn’t slowed down since then. She has kept busy as an investor, author, speaker, and media personality. In 2005, she created a new venture for herself, Barbara Corcoran, Inc.

Her book Nextville: Amazing Places to Live the Rest of Your Life, is designed to help boomers choose the right real estate opportunities for them.

If You Don’t Have Big Breasts, Put Ribbons on Your Pigtails (And Other Business Lessons I Learned from My Mom), her autobiographical business book, was recently revised and updated to include her adventures in the Shark Tank. The new edition, Shark Tales, features updates on the investments she has made on the show.

These days, she regularly appears on NBC’s Today Show as a real estate expert. Her columns have appeared in More Magazine, The Daily Review, and Redbook. She has been profiled in House & Garden, The New York Times, O The Oprah Magazine, among many other publications.

Her Shark Tank investments have included Daisy Cakes, designer Gayla Bentley, Grease Monkey Wipes, The Body Jac, Pork Barrel BBQ, and Ava the Elephant.

Mark Cuban is a relatively new recruit to the Shark Tank, joining the show as a guest in Season 2 before appearing as a regular in Season 3. His freewheeling style and pursuit of high-dollar deals have made quite a splash with viewers as well as the other Sharks.

Leveraging technology is a business strategy that has served many sharks well, and Mark Cuban is no exception. He got his start selling software in 1980s Texas, eventually launching his own company and selling it to industry giant CompuServe in 1990.

He would go on to launch Audionet, the forerunner to Broadcast.com, in the mid-’90s. At the end of that decade, Cuban would cash in again, selling the venture to Internet player Yahoo! for $5.8 billion.

Cuban diversified his earnings in the new century, but continued to focus most of his efforts on entertainment. His companies include 2929 Entertainment, the Landmark Theatres chain of movie houses, production company Magnolia Pictures and the cable/satellite TV services HDNet and HDNet Movies.

His political philosophy is partially inspired by Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead and he actively donates to political candidates of both parties. His Mark Cuban Foundation established a Fallen Patriot Fund to support families of servicemen and women killed in Iraq.

He is also the majority owner of the 2011 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks basketball team and has expressed interest in several other major sports properties. An avid sports fan, he has been a proponent of wrestling and mixed martial arts, even serving as guest host on WWE Raw in 2009.

Cuban is a big proponent of creative Internet startup companies and has invested in several of these ventures in the last decade. And his financial status has put him in the spotlight, leading to appearances in movies and TV shows, including Entourage, Like Mike 2: Streetball, and Dancing with the Stars.

In his visits to the Shark Tank so far, Cuban has invested in Hy-Conn, a fire hydrant tool, and Toygaroo, a toys by mail service.

But when Robert Herjavec’s parents immigrated from Croatia to Canada, they couldn’t have had any idea of the success he would become.

He’s a self-made man, having pulled himself up by his bootstraps and built a phenomenally successful Internet business while waiting tables to pay his bills. Like the entrepreneurs and business owners who pitch to the Sharks, Robert knows what it’s like to sacrifice for your dream.

That business he was building was an Internet security firm called BRAK Systems, which led Canada in the Internet security industry and was eventually purchased by telecommunications giant AT&T for a whopping $100 million.

Herjavec wasn’t ready to stop there. He took on a position at RAMP Networks, which would soon be sold to another major telecom player, Nokia, for $225 million. His entrepreneurial spirit never seems to quit, and he is widely known and respected in the U.S. and Canada as an expert on building your own business.

In 2003, he created The Herjavec Group, once again in the field of security software. Today he is the CEO of that company, which is one of the fastest growing companies in Canada.

His book, Driven: How to Succeed in Business and In Life, was released in 2010 and was the #1 bestselling business title in Canada for seven months.

He is no stranger to the spotlight. Along with fellow Shark Kevin O’Leary and other Canadian business titans, he has appeared on Dragons’ Den, the Canadian version of Shark Tank, for the past five years.

When he’s not making millions or investing in other entrepreneurs, Herjavec spends time with his wife and three children in their 50,000 square foot mansion in Bridle Path, Toronto. He also owns a private vacation island off the coast of Miami, Florida.

As a Shark, Robert has invested in a variety of products, including gourmet food company A Perfect Pear, Gift Card Rescue, My Therapy Journal, and Grill Charms.

Daymond John’s path to success started out with an opportunity. He wanted a fashionable hat, but couldn’t find what he was looking for at a reasonable price, so he made one for himself.

It all started in Brooklyn, New York, in 1992. After making hats for friends and family, he saw an opening in the marketplace for stylish, affordable clothing that consumers currently weren’t finding in stores. He truly saw the potential after selling $800 worth of hats in a single day.

From there, he and his mother mortgaged their home and invested that money in their new business, FUBU. In just two years, that business achieved national recognition and received hundreds of thousands of dollars in orders from national retailers and companies.

Endorsement from rapper LL Cool J and a distribution deal with Macy’s department stores were two of the company’s early successes. It wasn’t long before the company took off and rose through the ranks to join the likes of fashion mogul Tommy Hilfiger, becoming a household name.

Since then, FUBU has gained international recognition, achieved more than $6 billion in sales, and made Daymond John a reputation as a savvy, sought-after entrepreneur. In addition to his fashion interests, John is also an author, consultant, branding expert, and professional speaker.

He shares his own story in his first book, Display of Power: How FUBU Changed a World of Fashion, Branding and Lifestyle. A second book, The Brand Within, focuses on advice for entrepreneurs who want to build a relationship with customers and the psychology of loyalty in the consumer marketplace.

His current businesses include FUBU, Coogi, Shark Branding, Heatherette, DrunknMunky, and Display of Power. In addition to his consulting and speaking engagements, his media appearances have included CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, USA Today, CNN, and Black Enterprise, among countless others. He recently appeared on the cover of Adweek magazine.

Since joining Shark Tank in 2009, John has been the show’s go-to fashion expert. He has invested over $700,000 in the show’s entrepreneurs. His choices have included One Sole, Wurkin Stiffs, HillBilly Brand, Lightfilm, LipStix ReMix, and Hells Bells Helmets.

His background is in software, and he got his start with SoftKey Software Products, which he started from his basement. This was in the 1990s, when the computer world was still rapidly evolving. All those growing pains led to O’Leary’s ascension to the role of president at The Learning Company.

The Learning Company was then responsible for popular educational computer games like The Oregon Trail, Reader Rabbit, and the Carmen Sandiego geography game franchise. O’Leary left the company in 2000, a year after it was sold to the toy-making tycoons at Mattel in a $3.7 billion deal.

Since then, he has put his entrepreneurial spirit to work in new business ventures. He started the mutual fund company O’Leary Funds to manage his own wealth and share his investing philosophy with others. He is also involved in Storage Now, the third largest storage services company in Canada.

He is also a member of the advisory board at Genstar Capital, and he works hard to find worthwhile investments that have a positive impact on the environment.

O’Leary is no stranger to the TV cameras, having appeared on several Canadian series, including Canada’s version of Shark Tank, which is called Dragons’ Den. In the Dragons’ Den, he is joined by fellow Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec.

When he’s not making money or scowling for the camera, he can be found at his remote Canadian estate with his family, where he enjoys playing the guitar and learning about wine.

In the Shark Tank, Kevin O. is a notoriously hard sell, but he has opened up his checkbook a few times for the show’s entrepreneurs. His investments have included: the Caffeindicator, a sweetener than changes colors in the presence of caffeine; Jump Forward, a social marketing tool for student athletes; and First Defense Nasal Screens.

Cuban brings some much needed star power to the Shark Tank, which will hopefully result in higher ratings.

Shark Tank premiered Sunday, running against NBC’s NFL “Hall of Fame Game” averaged only 4.2 million viewers. Not exactly the strongest numbers but its something to build on. (so tell your friends)

Five money hungry sharks decide weather to invest their own money into a hopeful entrepreneurs business. The Sharks of “Shark Tank” are real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, “infomercial” industry pioneer Kevin Harrington, technology innovator Robert Herjavec, fashion icon Daymond John and financial expert Kevin O’Leary.

Tod Wilson of Mr. Tod’s Pie Factory was first into the tank, he needed money to expand his business to meet demand. Although he ran a profitable retail pie business over 50% of his business came from wholesaling sweet potato pies, he had sales of over $850,000 last year. McDonald’s is interested in carrying his product in the southern states. He was asking $460,000 for a 10% stake in his business. Barbara and Daymond offered the money for 50% of his company and Tod accepted the deal.

Darrin Johnson presented his invention called Ionic Ear. He was looking for $1 million for a 15% stake in his company. The Ionic Ear is a Bluetooth device which is surgically implanted in the ear. As expected the Sharks laughed at him, and he didn’t get any investment. I actually wonder if this was a real business because I am unable to find any reference to a Darrin Johnson or a Bluetooth device called Ionic Ear anywhere online…

The next entrepreneur was Kevin Flannery who had to mortgage his house to keep his company WiSpots afloat. WiSpots is a content delivery system (advertising) which would be set up in doctors offices allowing patients to surf the net while waiting for their appointments. He was seeking $1.2 million for a 10% steak in his business. The units cost a little over $9 thousand and the sharks were positive doctors would not pay for it. They all opted out, and encouraged him to give up his business.

Next to enter the tank was Tiffany Krumins. She was looking for a $50 thousand investment for a 15% stake in her business, Emmy, an elephant that helped deliver medicine to difficult children. Tiffany was in need of mentorship, she had no patent, no mold, and nothing much more than a idea. Barbara offered Tiffany the money for a 55% stake, which she accepted.

Last was Omar Solomon and Nick Friedman with their business College Foxes Packing Boxes. They would send good-looking girls to help pack up boxes on moving day. This business was a sister business to College Hunks Hauling Junk which sent guys to help move. Omar and Nick were only offering an investment in College Foxes Moving Boxes but the sharks wanted both. Omar and Nick asked for $1 milling for a 10% stake in both business. No one was interested, Robert counted with $250 thousand for a 10% take in College Hunks Hauling Junk and a 50% stake in College Foxes Packing Boxes. The guys were not interested.

Next week the Sharks hear a pitch from Mark Furigay an inner-city schoolteacher who has a unique way to get kids to learn. Sensing that a gourmet food business is about to make it big, Susan Knapp the owner watches as the Sharks fight it out for a piece of her business. Also, the Sharks are so impressed with a life-saving idea that an astonishing one million dollar offer is made. Will this headstrong entrepreneur accept the offer or will his ego stand in the way?
